I cannot count on a three-year period at Manchester United - Amorim

Manchester United head coach

The Manchester United coach - seen receiving consolation post May's European final loss - notes he is satisfied by the investor's long-term backing but emphasized that what lies ahead is unknown in football.

The Red Devils' boss Amorim feels it's significant the co-owner openly discussed his future vision - but says nothing is certain about the next day in soccer, let alone three years.

Through a conversation with a major publication recently, Ratcliffe stated it might require Amorim three years to produce meaningful results at Old Trafford.

Arriving during a time when Amorim's future has been facing examination in the wake of a lengthy stretch of unsatisfactory outcomes, the words contributed to reducing a portion of the current stress.

Yet, discussing prior to the centenary clash with historic adversaries the Reds at their home ground, the manager underscored that what comes next is challenging to anticipate in the beautiful game.

"It is really good to listen to that but he informs me continuously, occasionally through communication after games - but understand, I'm aware and Ratcliffe understands, that football is not like that," he commented.

"The vital factor is the following fixture. Even with owners, you cannot dictate the next day in football."

CEO the club executive has admitted it has taken far longer for the head coach to adjust to the top division subsequent to his appointment from Sporting Lisbon in November than anyone imagined.

Manchester United have achieved 10 victories in 34 league games with the Portuguese coach. They are yet to win back-to-back league wins and haven't finished a matchday this season higher than ninth.

The dire statistics are testing faith in the head coach among the Red Devils supporters entering a sequence of matches the side has performed poorly in for the past two seasons.

Amorim said he isn't experiencing the doubt within the organization at the club's Carrington training ground and is adamant nothing compares to the stress he places on the team - and to some extent, he would prefer the co-owner to refrain from seeking to create tranquility because he fears the effect it might produce on the team.

"It isn't merely an item of conversation, I sense it every day," he said. "It's truly positive to receive it because it assists our supporters to understand the administration realize it needs a period.

"Yet concurrently, I dislike it because it creates an impression that we possess time to solve problems. I don't want that sense in our club.

"The pressure I place on the players or on myself is considerably larger [versus outside influences]. In football, especially in big clubs, you must demonstrate your value every weekend."
