This Greatest Shared Screen Game You Have Probably Not Experienced Launches to Nintendo Switch

The Wizard of Legend Sequel, a roguelike quest featuring wizards striving to become renowned heroes, is coming to Nintendo Switch before month's end. It will be playable Nov. 25, giving devotees of couch co-op experiences another opportunity to check out one of this year's top-tier additions in its class.

A Rocky Start

The Wizard of Legend Sequel has followed the trajectory of several niche releases. The developer launched it in pre-release in October 2024 on computer systems, before releasing it in full, alongside PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X iterations, in the summer of 2025. Upon release, it was widely panned. Merely less than a third of its player feedback were complimentary. The Steam reviews were "mixed", based on nearly 2,000 reviews, with numerous players pointing out the general lack of polish and litany of bugs upon release. Gamers on PlayStation and Xbox further lambasted that the cooperative mode, a key feature for the game, was largely non-functional.

Steady Refinements

However like many early access games that release in unpolished conditions, The Wizard of Legend Sequel has improved. Over the past few months, the creators have rolled out several fixes intended to resolve these problems. Since experiencing Wizard of Legend 2 to a greater extent than every other recent title this year, it's safe to state it's a bit more functional relative to initially (on Xbox Series X, if nothing else). It has achieved the stage where nine times out of ten, players can reliably initiate a cooperative run to function. Pretty good!

If It Functions, This Game Shines

And if Wizard of Legend II operates, it truly delivers. Using an isometric view, you battle through elemental-themed areas by casting spells in fast-paced combat. Lots of dashing, a great deal of evading, lots of handling spell delays. This game is extremely quick and remarkably inventive; when you mix and match your abilities alongside a partner's, you can unleash some devastating combinations.

Switch Edition Details

Although the Nintendo Switch edition has not been comprehensively reviewed, it's worth noting the notoriously rigorous approval process for Nintendo titles. The developer stated publicly that the Switch version of The Wizard of Legend Sequel includes all updates that were implemented recently.
